Carlos & Mariela van de Kamp

Carlos: I was born in Peru, but at the age of three I was adopted by a Dutch family. Being adopted was difficult for me at times. That’s the reason that – after finishing school – I went back to Peru – a journey back to my roots. My life was completely changed. I gave my life to Jesus and was baptized. At that time my whole life quickened. I met my wife Mariela and we got married in 2004.
God called us in a special way to help the children of Peru. Since 2005 we are working with the “Pan de Vida” foundation. We are sharing God with unprivileged children and we show them His mercy through our feeding projects.

Mariela: Born in Lima, Peru. I grew up in a big family and had a difficult childhood. Our family moved to a place in the jungle. That’s where we got to know God. I received a prophecy that my husband would come from a country far away. And that is exactly what happened. Meanwhile we have three lovely daughters: Esther, Hannah and Karin. I love to work with the smallest children in our day care centre.

Together we are committed to the children in Peru. This is our vision: Children and their families get to know God and receive a chance to break through the vicious circle of poverty. We are thankful to be able to demonstrate God’s love through feeding projects, bible studies, day care centres for children and education. At this time Pan de Vida helps more than 1200 children in Peru.
