About us

Renate is from Germany. In 2008 she came to Costa Rica for the first time to attend several courses on missions and to serve with the ministry among children at risk at YWAM. She has been serving with Metro Ministries since 2010.

Jose is from Costa Rica and has been with Metro Ministries since 2011, where they met and started serving together. After their wedding in 2013, a sabbatical as well as a short bible school they returned to Costa Rica in 2014 to keep investing into the children in the San Jose Slums.

About our ministry in Costa Rica

More than a hundred children a week attend our exciting and easily accessible children programs every week thanks to the well-known Metro Ministries. We are constantly present in those same slums through the programs as well as craft clubs, home visits and discipleship programs. This enables us to build deep relationships with the children and their families. Although most of these children are confronted with the consequences of poverty, the dangers of gangs, violence or abuse: We want to be there for them and guide them towards a path and a changed life through the ever-changing love of Christ.
