Hello!
I have been married to Birgit since 2003, who has been working as a prayer house missionary at the Bielefeld Prayer House since 2024. We live in Bielefeld with our two children, Amy and Aaron.
After 24 years of pastoral service in the state and free churches, I feel God’s call to work beyond the church for prayer, evangelism, and Christian unity in Bielefeld and the surrounding area. I want more people to get to know Jesus, discover the power of prayer, and be inspired by the radiance of Christian unity.
Without prayer, every effort for evangelism and unity is fruitless. I want to rediscover prayer as God’s power together with others and promote it in every form. Inspired by a dream from God, my wife and I started the interdenominational Bielefeld House of Prayer in 2016. Together with many Christians, we are able to pray there for over 50 hours a week for a wide variety of concerns. Unity and revival are particularly close to our hearts. On the 12th and 25th of each month, we invite people to join us for 24 hours of prayer and worship. In our new prayer rooms with a café, our work has been growing steadily since the beginning of 2025. Our goal is to pray 24/7.

Many people in Germany are unaware of the good news that Jesus alone is our salvation. This makes me feel that Jesus’ command to “make disciples of all nations” is all the more urgent for all Christians today. Without Jesus, people will be lost forever. This moves my heart. The Alpha course is currently the most effective faith course for bringing people closer to faith in Jesus. I want to help churches in Bielefeld and the surrounding area to run the Alpha course and inspire people for Jesus.
Jesus prayed for his disciples that they would be one, as he is one with the Father, so that the world would recognize Jesus (John 17:21). People will recognize us as his disciples by the love we have for one another. Love becomes visible and tangible in encounters. I want to work for interdenominational unity among Christians in Bielefeld and the surrounding area and create places and opportunities for encounters to this end. The interdenominational prayer house in Bielefeld, the Bielefeld Prayer Days, the worship service in Ravensberger Park with Worship Night, the walk-in Advent calendar in 2010, ProChrist 2012, and the joint worship service in 2022 organized by the Working Group of Christian Churches and the Evangelical Alliance in Bielefeld are already successful examples of this, in which I was privileged to participate.
