David is a Kenyan and was raised as a nominal Christian. In his early 20’s he made a decision for Jesus, worked with several missionaries, led a church, and taught at elementary schools. After marrying Gabi he attended Bible school of Christ for all Nations (Glaubenszentrum Bad Gandersheim) in Germany and did an internship at Globe Mission. Later he did a BA in Biblical Theology with THeMA (a German partner of New Covenant International University).
Gabi is from Germany. In early childhood she accepted Jesus in her life and soon afterwards she felt called to Africa.
She became a nurse and became a Globe missionary in 1992, first on a Mercy Ship of Youth with a Mission, then in „The Challenge“, a project for street children founded by Rick and Chery Thompson in Nairobi, Kenya.
Later she worked as secretary at Globe Mission Germany headquarters.
David and Gabi moved with their family back to Kenya in 2006, where they founded a mission society called „Chesegem Ministry“.
Main goal of the ministry is to train Christians to become missionaries in their own culture and beyond and to reach yet unreached people groups.
They do regular prayer meetings for unreached people groups, mission awareness and mobilisation seminars in different church denominations as well as outreaches and church planting in rural areas.
They train people for missions and care for missionaries on the mission field.
They conduct outreaches to North Kenya, South Sudan and other areas thus providing insights into missions.
Also they worked for 6 years as pastors with Sirikwa Pentacostal Fellowship /Eldoret Kenya.
Since 2019 they work closely together with PEFA in Turkana /North Kenya. They helped to plant a church, raise a church structure, a medical clinic and since 2021 they run a nursery school in ApaEtuko.
For now, Jumas are living in Germany and leading the ministry via home office.
Regularly David is visiting the project sites.
David is ministering as preacher in different churches in Germany.
