How can you plan short-term mission trips in the best interest of your team, the people you want to reach, and the long-term missionaries you’re working with? How can you motivate your church as well as friends and family to support short-term missions? And how can your team best prepare for short-term mission trips to other countries?
These are some of the questions we want to work through during a one-day seminar at our center in Hamminkeln, Germany. Topics will include:
- What are realistic expectations of a short-term mission trip?
- How can we practice intercultural competencies? Avoid cultural blunders?
- And finally: What’s the essence of effective aid? How can we help without causing harm?
It is important for short-term teams to equip themselves with practical tools and easily implementable strategies in order to avoid some of the classic mistakes of short-term mission work.
